Tickets go on sale Monday, November 11 at 10 a.m., for Danbury Music Centre’s 52nd production of the “Nutcracker Ballet,” with three performances taking place on December 13 at 7:30 p.m., December 14 at 2:30 and 7 p.m., and December 15 at 3 p.m.
The Danbury Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Ariel Rudiakov, will perform the music of Tchaikovsky. There are approximately 200 dancers in the cast and 20 snowflake singers.
The artistic directors are a husband-and-wife team, Arthur Fredric and Lisa Denton, from Brookfield. The technical directors are Arnold Daley and Matt Ficinus, from Danbury, and the lighting designer is Peter Petrino, from Brewster.
Danbury’s “Nutcracker” showcases talented dancers from throughout the greater Danbury area. The lead role of the Sugar Plum Fairy will be danced by Taegen Rose Smith, from Newtown. Clara will be danced by Shae McGraw, from Danbury. The role of Mother Ginger is performed by Mayor Mark Boughton.
