The Danbury Athletic Youth Organization’s middle school and high school basketball program offers boys and young men in grades 6 through 12 the opportunity to play organized competitive basketball in the winter months. The Organization offers league teams that play each other in their respective divisions and eventually play against each other during the championships. The athletes learn the fundamental mechanics of basketball and teamwork. Basketball is a demanding sport physically and mentally and the players can see their progress from one week to the next. At the end of the season, there is a banquet where each player’s accomplishments are recognized.
D.A.Y.O.’s focus is to teach the game of basketball to all participants, even with varying basketball skill levels. The coaches’ mission is to help develop all who participate into better athletes and give them an opportunity to be in an environment in which they can improve on their skills and also have fun. Coaches will help the athletes master fundamentals such as dribbling, shooting and passing the ball while learning other essential skills such as playing defense or offense, playing guard and other jobs. Parents will be able to see their son’s athletic development. D.A.Y.O. has created an environment in which all athletes participate. All our coaches have a background check. If you have any questions, please email Estela at email@example.com. We hope your son joins one of our basketball teams. Thank you!
