The 30th annual Taste of Greater Danbury comes to downtown on September 10 and 11. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 30 years of live music, delectable food and family entertainment – 30 years of drawing record crowds to the heart of our city. Time does fly. And, this year’s event is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet.
“We’re really looking forward to celebrating 30 years of the Taste of Greater Danbury,” said P.J. Prunty, executive director of CityCenter Danbury. “This year there will be plenty to check out downtown on Saturday and Sunday, from our fantastic food vendors representing an array of delicious cuisine, to our community, craft and information booths along with awesome music throughout the day.”
The headlining musical act this year is Everclear. One of the quintessential rock bands from the 1990s the band is currently on tour for their new album, Black is the New Black. They’ll rock the Danbury Green on Saturday night at 8pm as well as at 2pm on Sunday.
Local favorites like Romy’s BBQ, The Ice Cream Guy, Two Steps, Gallucci’s and Brewster Pastry will be there once again, ready to appease the hungry crowd. In addition, there will also be an array of food trucks. For the 21+ crowd, you’ll be able to wash it all down with a beer. That’s right; for first time ever, CityCenter Danbury will officially be selling beer at Taste of Danbury.
In addition to all the great food and music, you can have some fun with arts and crafts and games. Get to know a number of local businesses and non-profits too. It all kicks off Saturday September 10 at 12noon.
The two-day extravaganza is free of charge to the public. For more information, call CityCenter Danbury at 203-792-1711 or visit http://www.citycenterdanbury.com.
